The City of Tucson Parks & Recreation Department is seeking an energetic, customer service orientated
to assist customer at the front desks in various recreation centers.
This is a non-permanent position that will work on an intermittent or seasonal basis.
Individuals in this classification may not exceed 1,300 hours in a 12 month period.
Work hours can vary to include Sunday through Saturday; 6:00 am to 8:00 pm.
This position is for front desk coverage on weeknights and weekends.
A Recreation Worker provides service to the patrons of the City Parks & Recreation facilities. This position assists with front desk tasks, provides customer service, prepares facilities for scheduled functions, collects payment for daily use and membership sales, and monitors center participants and activities.
Please note the position of Recreation Worker encompasses multiple recreational areas and job sites are located at various facilities throughout the City of Tucson.
Assures that the facility is prepared for scheduled functions/rentals and that arranged equipment is safe and appropriate
Provides service to facility users to assure their comfort and safety by assisting with requests, answering questions, or referring to regular staff
Ensures the safety of center participants by enforcing discipline and behavior policies
Supports safety programs by adhering to policies and procedures and reporting accidents and hazardous conditions immediately to a supervisor
Provides excellent customer service by greeting customers, providing information, and responding to requests
Ability to learn and use a computer, point of sale for our reservation computer system, and cash handling
Minimum Education Level & Type: Less than High School
Minimum Experience Qualifications: Three months of full-time employment and/or volunteer experience involving customer contact
At least 16 years of age at time of application
All candidates must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid certification and pass a background screening upon hire.

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be evaluated on the education and work experience in their employment profile and the responses to their supplemental questions. The highest scoring applicants will be invited to participate in Oral Board Interviews.
The highest scoring applicants will be placed in the "Best Qualified" and "Qualified" band (grouping) and provided to the hiring department for a selection decision. An applicant's placement on the list will be based on their final score which will be calculated as:
