Maintains streetlights by troubleshooting problems, changing and replacing broken and shorted components, replacing and assembling fallen traffic signals and poles, and responding to emergency calls.
Performs preventive maintenance on equipment by lubricating and greasing moving parts, checking fluid levels, making necessary repairs, and assisting in replacing parts.
Promotes shop and employee safety by attending and making presentations at safety meetings, inspecting fire extinguishers, hoists, electric cords and other parts, and completing forms for safety records.
Builds and fabricates parts and materials by measuring and cutting materials and laying out, aligning, and welding parts and materials.Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be evaluated on the education and work experience in their employment profile and the responses to their supplemental questions. High scoring candidates will be invited to participate in an Oral Board interview.
Upon completion of all examination processes, applicants will be placed on a ranked list. The list will be utilized to fill vacancies occurring within the next 6 months. An applicant's ranking on the list will be based on their final score which will be calculated as: ·
