Introduction

The City of Tucson Information Technology Department (ITD) provides support services for all departments within the City, including citizen services, public safety, public works, back-office business applications, project management, analytics & GIS, and web applications. Additionally, the City has become a direct provisioner of wireless services to eligible community members through the newly established  Community Wireless Program.  The diversity of City business functions and supporting technologies makes for a dynamic work environment that is both challenging and rewarding. 

This is a part time position with flexibility to adjust hours according to class schedule and study demands.
Preference will be given to those candidates who have interest and availability to work during the upcoming school year

General Description

Quality Assurance and Training Interns for the City of Tucson analyze, design, co-develop, and implement quality assurance and training programs, processes, and procedures that improve customer satisfaction and service levels and improve the quality of life for citizens and employees. The intern will also have the opportunity to work on the Community Wireless Program by assisting with the development of a second phase outreach and advertising campaign, coordination of router distribution events, and following up with program participants to help with service concerns and issues.  

This position may require collaborating with others outside direct reporting relationships on specific problems or general policies.  Contacts may require consideration of different points of view to reach a resolution.

Essential Functions

Proactively plan, verifying test-cases, conduct application and product tests. Analyze test and training data to provide stakeholders or end-users quality training solutions for driving business performance and investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity in collaboration with other ITD resources.  Createrecord and maintain high quality, online, video and classroom training material through product testing & analysis by integrating various content delivery components from multiple sources  Utilize industry-standard test and analysis frameworks to perform quality assurance analysis, testing, planning, and direct workflows 
Create and maintain issue tracking system data as needed. Assist with bringing challenges to the forefront and monitor quality trends.  
Collaborate with teams throughout the City to promote and support the Community Wireless Program.  Interact and engage with Community Wireless Program participants to understand concerns and route issues appropriately for accurate action and resolution. 

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education Level & Type: Current enrollment in a college institution or equivalent coursework; Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Business Administration. 

Minimum Experience Qualifications: No Experience
