The Streets & Traffic Maintenance Division is looking for qualified individuals to fill the position of Electronic Technician Supervisor. This individual will plan, organize and supervise the activities of staff involved in traffic signal system maintenance.
Assists with the implementation, evaluation and interpretation of department policies, projects and procedures.
Contributes to the needs of the community and City by implementing and causing others to implement the organization's values and strategies by leading through example, competency, and accountabilities.
Provides customer service by responding to information requests, conducting research, providing solutions to problems, and correcting errors.
Ensures that unit work conforms to local, state, and federal governmental regulations, and other applicable rules and requirements.
Plan, organize and supervise the activities of staff involved in traffic signal system maintenance
Manage employee performance appraisals
Oversight of traffic signal preventative maintenance, construction and repair
Evaluate proposed intersection designs for safety compliance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), conformance to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Electrical Manufactures Association (NEMA) standards, and suitability of existing equipment for upgrade, improvement or betterment
Direct staff to adjust traffic signal control equipment in response to field observations and traffic conditions per direction of Traffic Engineer
Ensure employee compliance with state, federal and local laws, regulations and codes
Maintain the Sections budget, communicating shortfalls with the Superintendent
Inspect the work product of others, including technicians, electricians, inspectors and contractors
Install and maintains systems related to traffic signals such as electronic, communication and traffic control systems by ensuring plans and drawings are correct
Testing and calibrating instruments and controls, operating site controls
Repairing and replacing defective instruments or controls and purchasing parts as needed
Manage and oversee service requests and work order in Cartegraph OMS and approve personnel timecards in KRONOS
Adjusts traffic signal control equipment in response to field observations and traffic conditions per the direction of the Traffic Engineer
Minimum Education Level & Type: Associate's Degree
Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 2 years of experience in maintaining and repairing electronic equipment, two way radio, microwave, fiber optic, and related communications systems
Transportation requires; High Voltage Identification and Traffic Control Authorization
IMSA Level II Traffic Signal Certification at time of application

The highest scoring applicants will then be evaluated on the written materials requested as part of this recruitment process.
