Maintain records and conduct business in accordance with HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, other federal and state regulations, and departmental policies and procedures
Disseminate and explain benefits information to participants via multiple communication modalities; exercise independent judgment to interpret and apply policies in order to determine appropriate course of action and resolve questions and issues
Produce and maintain Benefits files, and manage file destruction in accordance with records retention requirements
Resolve missing or incomplete enrollment and documentation issues
Process insurance enrollments, terminations, and changes via an online enrollment administration system
Prepare complex documents in final form, reviewing for accuracy, tracking changes, distributing copies
Audit insurance-related payroll transactions to ensure accuracy, and resolve discrepancies
COBRA and leave without pay: Produce and distribute notices and forms; establish enrollment records; explain rights and obligations to plan participants; monitor, process, record and reconcile payments; manage terminations in accordance with established procedures; stay abreast of legal changes and update related documents accordingly
Partner with insurance vendors to resolve enrollment and eligibility issues
Provide administrative support for wellness programming
Organize, schedule, and participate in meetings and events
Resolve office equipment issues, partnering with IT and office equipment vendors, as needed
Order and maintain supplies
Present at new employee orientation and pre-retirement seminars and webinars
Serve as back-up to Analyst and assist other Human Resources personnel as needed
Perform other duties required by business needs
Minimum Education Level & Type: Associate's Degree
Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 1 year in human resources
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position may be considered.
Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be evaluated on the education and work experience in their employment profile and their responses to their supplemental questions. The highest scoring applicants will then be invited to participate in a written exam.
The highest scoring applicants from the written exam will be invited to the Oral Board Interviews.
Upon completion of all examination processes, the highest scoring applicants will be placed on the Civil Service Employment List. An applicant's ranking on the Civil Service list will be based on their final score which will be calculated as:
This recruitment will establish a civil service list that will be utilized to fill vacancies occurring within the next 6 months.
