Introduction

The Human Resources (HR) Department, Operations Division is seeking an energetic, highly motivated individual to join the Occupational Health and Leaves (OHL) Team.  The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is committed to providing outstanding customer service in a fast paced environment. This position will assist OHL and satellite offices with administering policies and procedures for The Americans with Disability Act (ADA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Workers Compensation (WC) and maintain a computerized records database.

Essential Functions

Process and maintain donated leave transfers

Monitor electronic Workers Compensation submissions to ensure proper claim filing

Monitor the City Physician Work Status for appropriate filing

Review and maintain Workers Compensation light duty database

Responsible for running OSHA employee exposure hours and update monthly spreadsheet

Review and update monthly OSHA logs and communicating with Third Party Administrator (TPA)

Prepare and process Workers Compensation financial transactions for management approval

Reconciliation for non-work-related injuries and work-related injuries

Responsible for filing and purging documents and/or files in a timely manner

Send out via mail/e-mail FML/ADA packets as directed by leave Analyst

Act as a liaison for Workers Compensation and Medical Leave for all departments

Administrative support for the OHL team including oversight of multiple email boxes, faxes, mail, etc.

Coordinates and conducts department training by creating agendas, surveys, training materials, etc.

Create and update template forms for the division

Responsible for updates to OHL intranet

Exercises confidentially while maintaining and creating files and databases, collecting documentation, verifying information is complete, copying documents, and organizing/maintaining forms and files.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education Level & Type: Associate's Degree

Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 1 year in human resources

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position may be considered.

Selection Plan

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be evaluated on the education and work experience in their employment profile and their responses to their supplemental questions. The most qualified applicants will then be invited to participate in an Oral Board interview.

Virtual Oral Board Interviews will be held on February 24, 2021

Upon completion of all examination processes, the highest scoring applicants will be placed on the Civil Service Employment List. An applicant's ranking on the Civil Service list will be based on their final score which will be calculated as:

  • 10% for your training and experience
  • 90% for your oral board interview

This recruitment will establish a civil service list that will be utilized to fill vacancies occurring within the next 6 months.

Veterans, Native American, or Disability preference points will be added to the final score for those that are placed on the Civil Service Employment List.  If you qualify for preference points as outlined in the Employment Profile, you must present your documentation at the time of your interview.  The DD 214 must be a copy that indicates characterization of service.
