The Environmental and General Services Department (EGSD) is seeking a qualified, dependable, motivated individual to provide excellent customer service and successfully lead a team of Fleet Technicians at the Fleet Services Divisions’ Tire and Lube Shop.
This position is for SECOND shift from 1:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. with shift differential pay of $1.00/hr for hours worked between 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
This is a lead position affording guidance to other positions performing the same tasks. This lead position also reviews workloads, assigns work and coaches employees with specialized instructions and practices for job accomplishments. Lead personnel may contribute to other employees' performance evaluations, assist with the hiring process by interviewing and making recommendations and providing input to supervisory staff.
Plans, organizes, participates in and assists with vehicle servicing.
Maintains inventory by ordering, receiving and stocking parts and materials, maintaining usage reports, and producing stock on hand reports.
Instructs and trains personnel, assigns job tasks, routs workflow, observes work progress and quality and promotes the safe and effective servicing of vehicle equipment.
Generates work orders, enters information into the computer, checks vehicle histories, updates equipment and parts master database, receives field service calls, provides information to customers, schedules appointments, calls in contract service needs, maintains logs, and processes forms and orders.
Minimum Education Level & Type: 6 months post High School
Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 2 years maintaining vehicle fleet inventory control and performing preventive maintenance
Valid and Unrestricted Class D - Driver's License
The position requires the following certification within 60 days of hire:
Failure to obtain certification will result in failure of probation.
