"One City One Team” has never been more prevalent than today. As we unite together during this COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Tucson employees continue to show perseverance and team work.
This notification is to invite City of Tucson permanent and probationary employees to submit letters of interest which the Business Services Department may review to help them meet some of their current staffing shortage.
These opportunities do not have a change in pay or title. Instead, they provide new learning and professional development opportunities for employees who may not have the a full 40 hours per week due to our current pandemic.
As developments with Coronavirus (COVID-19) continue, interested participants will be notified of opportunities as they arise, according to COT department needs. The goal of these re-deployment opportunities is to implement protocols to protect the health of COT employees, customers and vendors, through the normal course of City of Tucson business operations. Assistance in these efforts from COT staff is required and appreciated.
Business Services Department (BSD) is taking all recommended precautions to assure employee safety. At this time, employees are working on site at the following two warehouse locations:
720 East Ajo where work hours are Monday thru Friday: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
850 S. Randolph Way where work hours are Monday thru Friday 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
Re-Deployment opportunities for BSD/SAMM Warehouse are as follows:
*SAMM Warehouse Support:
Assists in the receiving area by loading and unloading items, receiving inventory and special order items, identifying and resolving discrepancies, stocking inventory, distributing inventory, completing reports, entering data into automated systems, filling orders and delivering inventory.
Returns items by sorting, categorizing, determining the vendor, researching current inventory needs, processing paperwork, entering data requirements and contacting vendors.
Maintains records of all incoming / outgoing .
Monitors compliance on deliveries quality, quantity and price against invoices, purchase orders, packing slips, contract order release forms, or other documents;
Physical requirements: ability to bend, kneel, reach, squat and climb..
