The successful candidate(s) will work for the City Manager’s Office in the dynamic environment it takes to manage a large public agency. The City Manager’s Office oversees activities and initiatives with interdepartmental and city-wide influence. This position will provide support to an office or initiative City staff are engaged with. The successful candidate(s) will be assigned a project directly related to ongoing developments at the City. These projects include, but are not limited to:
Over the course of the internship, the Management Intern will be expected to gain experience and support the city through some of the following functions as determined by the Intern’s chosen project and their supervisor:
Minimum Education Level and Type: Current enrollment in, or recent graduate of, a Master’s program in Public Administration, Education, Human Resources, Planning, Political Science, or similar field.
Preferred Experience Qualifications: Previous work or volunteer experience with a civic or non-profit organization with a focus on community engagement, planning, budgeting, finance, or project management.

Creditable service does not accrue during any reemployment period.
