Responds to emergency medical calls by performing patient assessment, administering medical treatment and life support, loading and transporting patients to the hospital, and completing required reports and documentation, in accordance with department policy.
Performs essential incident command system functions by establishing rehab sector and medical sectors, triage, treatment, and transport. Responds to emergency fire calls and performs fire suppression duties by securing the scene, identifying and containing hazardous materials, setting up, carrying and utilizing equipment, searching for and rescuing occupants, removing obstacles, ventilating structures, salvaging contents and applying extinguishing agents to fires.
Maintains facilities and equipment by cleaning the station house interior, inspecting and maintaining vehicles and equipment, and maintaining and inventorying medical supplies.
Continues education by participating in drills and classes, teaching life support skills, meeting re-certification requirements and maintaining physical fitness.
Performs related duties by performing fire code violation building inspections, inspecting hydrants, providing information to the public, installing smoke detectors, conducting station tours, visiting schools, and complying with all procedures as outlined in department manuals and by management.
Minimum Education Level & Type: High School Diploma or G.E.D
Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 2 years as Fire Fighter
Valid and Unrestricted Class D - Driver's License
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation Certification
Arizona Fire Fighter I and II Certification
TFD Paramedic Certification
Arizona Department of Health Services Paramedic Certification
HazMat First Responder Certification
