Administers work orders and requests for service by receiving orders and requests; prioritizing work according to urgency and resource requirements and completing appropriate order and request documentation.
Oversees job requests by reviewing and analyzing job requests; researching past requests; investigating and viewing work sites; developing cost estimates and identifying staffing requirements.
Coordinates work activities by scheduling appropriate approvals and necessary permits; coordinating with internal departments and external entities and vendors and dispatching work and assignments to Utility Technician supervisors.
Monitors and sustains work progress by tracking work flow and crew progress; verifying availability of parts and equipment; ensuring mandated inspections are scheduled and completed and rescheduling work and related activities due to down-time, emergencies and other unforeseen circumstances.
Maintains records and files for reporting and analysis by preserving records and databases of work scheduled and completed; following-up to verify completion of work and related activities and analyzing actual costs for staff and equipment for use in future planning efforts.
May provide training services by developing and presenting training on job-related activities including, but not limited to, equipment safety, technical issues and other systems.
Establishes short range and long range plans by analyzing resources and backlog and balancing these two concerns to ensure delivery of Tucson Water services.
Determines resource requirements by establishing the required crew size and resources necessary for the completion of the task, estimating and/or applying available benchmarks and determining the need for extra travel or preparation for completion of the task.
Minimum Education Level & Type: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 3 years of experience in planning and scheduling work processes, using Synergyn and associate software computer systems.

The following information pertains to driving requirements for this classification with the City of Tucson. Under "Driving Level" None, Secondary or Primary, refers to the driving responsibility as it relates to the essential functions of the classification. License Type, is just that, the type of Arizona Driving License required for the classification. If the position requires a Commercial Drivers License (CDL), the endorsements will be listed under "Endorsements." Under Safety Sensitive a "Yes" means employees with this classification are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. License Type A,B,C,D,or M may require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage. Exceptions to classification driving requirement's may exist based on position.
