General Description

Provides service to the patrons of parks and recreation centers. Work requires assisting in the set up, breakdown, and monitoring of recreation centers for scheduled functions and daily operation.

Essential Functions

Maintains constant and appropriate communication with site personnel, participants, and other members of the public who use recreation centers.

Assures that the facility is prepared for scheduled functions and users.

Provides service to recreation center users to assure their comfort and safety by assisting with requests, answering questions or referring to regular staff.

Participates in weekly site staff meetings.

Ensures the safety of center attendants by enforcing discipline and behavior policies.

Adheres to policies and procedures, and reports accidents and hazardous conditions immediately to a supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education Level & Type: Less than High School

Minimum Experience Qualifications: Under 1 year of experience in customer service

Special Job Requirements

Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation/First Aid Certification

Must be at least 16 years of age

Driving Requirements

Under Safety Sensitive a "Yes" means employees with this classification are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. License Type A,B,C,D,or M may require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage. Exceptions to classification driving requirement's may exist based on position.
