SMART MOBILITY PROGRAM MANAGER (#2765)

General Description

The Smart Mobility Program Manager performs highly responsible administrative and professional work in directing the day-to-day activities and implementation of the Smart Mobility Program

Essential Functions

Demonstrates behavior consistent with the vision, mission and values of the City of Tucson as well as the Department of Transportation  and provides excellent customer service

Contributes to the continuous improvement of the division, department and City through participation in professional and personal growth and development opportunities, and identifies opportunities for staff

Seeks opportunities to initiate improvement in organizational  processes and effectiveness, including employee performance, morale and work methods

Encourages innovation and creativity among staff and looks beyond the City for best practices

Manages the Smart Mobility Program, in coordination with other divisions and departments, including the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS)

Attends a variety of meetings and conferences and stays abreast of developments and technology in the Smart Mobility field

Supervises project management staff

Coordinates closely with other divisions and departments to seek different perspectives and collaboratively develop the best results

Directs the work of an interdepartmental team to implement Smart Mobility and helps to align and track progress through multiple strategic planning efforts

Works closely with the Transportation Public Information Officer to effectively communicate information to the public, senior management, staff and colleagues via email, social media, news releases and oral presentations to City Council and the community

Coordinates, tracks and oversees the implementation of the Smart Mobility Program initiatives

Works closely with the Department of Transportation and other external agencies to secure and execute grant agreements and works in close coordination with the Business Services – TDOT Finance to manage the program budget

Manages large scale ITS projects in coordination with Department for implementation

Implements numerous data collections and sharing initiatives across the City and with regional and private partners to better utilize information to make informed decisions related to traffic management

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education Level & Type: Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 5 years of experience in project management, including effective management of project budgets.  managing complex projects and coordinating experts from different fields; demonstration of progressive project management experience

Valid and Unrestricted Class D Driver’s License

Driving Requirements

The following information pertains to driving requirements for this classification with the City of Tucson. Under "Driving Level" None, Secondary or Primary, refers to the driving responsibility as it relates to the essential functions of the classification. License Type, is just that, the type of Arizona Driving License required for the classification. If the position requires a Commercial Drivers License (CDL), the endorsements will be listed under "Endorsements." Under Safety Sensitive a "Yes" means employees with this classification are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. License Type A,B,C,D,or M may require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage. Exceptions to classification driving requirement's may exist based on position.
