Oversees systems, databases and technology for the department
Oversees/manages system user accounts and security for the department. Reviews, approves, and authorizes system and application user accounts and roles
Conducts research and analyzes data on transportation and street maintenance to determine effectiveness of treatments, products, and procedures
Administers/supports the department’s GIS and Drone technology section. Comprehends and makes inferences from written material, such as reports and memos
Administers department budget and oversees related capital expenditures
Supervises and evaluates the work of four subordinate personnel in operations
Knowledge of modern management techniques, supervisory practices and evaluation methods.
Knowledge of principles and methods of budget preparation and monitoring.
Knowledge of City Administrative Directives, City and Department Policies and Procedures, City of Tucson and Pima County Standard Specifications for Public Improvements.
Knowledge of the City Procurement Contract website.
Knowledge of Unified Development Code (UDC), Technical Standards Manual (TSM), FHWA resources, Army Corp of Engineers Resources and University of Wisconsin-Madison PASER Manual.
Knowledge of GIS environments Ability to read and interpret plans, technical documents and specifications, schematics and reports
Ability to evaluate policy options and policy analysis for Council and City management and exercise judgment and discretion in the interpretation and application of policies.
Ability to analyze transportation and street needs, availability of resources, existing programs, and other related factors in developing divisional programs and meeting short-term and long-range planning goals.
EDUCATION LEVEL & TYPE: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Public Administration, Management, Accounting, Finance, MIS, Computer Science or directly related field.
EXPERIENCE: Over five years up to and including seven years of experience in/as: budgeting, accounting, contracts, procurement, or project management of which at least 3 years involve supervisory experience in a functional area.
"Supervisory" is defined as having supervised at least 1 full-time FTE.

The following information pertains to driving requirements for this classification with the City of Tucson. Under "Driving Level" None, Secondary or Primary, refers to the driving responsibility as it relates to the essential functions of the classification. License Type, is just that, the type of Arizona Driving License required for the classification. If the position requires a Commercial Drivers License (CDL), the endorsements will be listed under "Endorsements." Under Safety Sensitive a "Yes" means employees with this classification are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. License Type A,B,C,D,or M may require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage. Exceptions to classification driving requirement's may exist based on position.
