Reviews, assists with designs and contributes to projects and plans by conducting field reviews, determining project conflicts, noting plan compliance problems when discovered, preparing responses to inquiries regarding requirements, attending and helping to coordinate events and meetings, assisting with the review of private and capital improvement development projects and identifying and resolving engineering discrepancies.
Investigates, analyzes and resolves complaints, discrepancies and problems, determines and evaluates field visibility hazards, rectifies problems, conducts studies, enforces codes and standards, writes notifications, issues citations and works with other departments.
Prepares service requests and maps, creates drawings, charts and layouts, maintains accident engineering records, produces diagrams from reports, analyzes data, writes memos and correspondence, researches official documents, meets with City officials and citizens and reviews reports.
Reviews and responds to service requests by reviewing location histories, records, maps, photographs and blueprints, performing field reviews of locations, determining and initiating corrective actions, entering information into the database, responding to requests, updating records and creating instruction diagrams.
Surveys locations, conducts, analyzes and recommends engineering studies, coordinates with other agencies, testifies in depositions and court, conducts random inspections, maintains records and coordinates safety improvements, prepares and receives technical drawings and develops educational materials and presentations.

Minimum Experience Qualifications: Under 1 year of traffic engineering support and computer assisted design

The following information pertains to driving requirements for this classification with the City of Tucson. Under "Driving Level" None, Secondary or Primary, refers to the driving responsibility as it relates to the essential functions of the classification. License Type, is just that, the type of Arizona Driving License required for the classification. If the position requires a Commercial Drivers License (CDL), the endorsements will be listed under "Endorsements." Under Safety Sensitive a "Yes" means employees with this classification are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. License Type A,B,C,D,or M may require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage. Exceptions to classification driving requirement's may exist based on position.
