Assists in the installation and removal of pavement markings by inspecting equipment, setting barricades, ensuring vehicle is operating properly, loading and unloading supplies and equipment, throwing glass beads, covering paint with glass beads, installing reflective raised markers and removing and disposing of hazardous materials properly.
Assists in layout of pavement markings, pre-plans the worksite by requesting bluestake services, revising and interpreting blueprints, maps and instructions, coordinating with other departments, marking roadways, reading utility marks and creating and maintaining work orders.
Assists in installing and repairing of street signs by setting up safety equipment, removing damaged signs and posts, setting up temporary signs, measuring and marking blue stake area, removing clearance, and installing new signs and posts.
Maintains, repairs and replaces parts and equipment by cleaning equipment, repairing and installing pumps, compressors and pressure regulators, redesigning paint systems and bead guns, and purchasing parts for repairs.
Enters data into the computer, prepares memos, forms and reports and fabricates and installs signs.
Minimum Education Level & Type: 6 months post High School
Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least one year assisting in the installation of roadway markings and street signs
Valid and Unrestricted Class D - Driver's License

License Type, is just that, the type of Arizona Driving License required for the classification. If the position requires a Commercial Drivers License (CDL), the endorsements will be listed under "Endorsements." Under Safety Sensitive a "Yes" means employees with this classification are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. License Type A,B,C,D,or M may require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage. Exceptions to classification driving requirement's may exist based on position.
