Repairs electronic equipment by troubleshooting, replacing, and repairing defective radios, siren systems, emergency lighting and controls, installing and testing equipment for proper operation, utilizing Digital Multi-meters, Amp meters, Watt meters, and Service Monitors.
Fabricates equipment by drilling, punching, cutting, soldering, routing, installing, and testing equipment. Fabricates brackets and mounts for installing emergency communications and Code 3 equipment. Fabricates wiring harnesses that are neat, and properly labeled as per the provided diagrams to cut down installation time and provide a superior product for the end users in Public Safety.
Troubleshoots equipment by evaluating instruments and controls for proper operation, using test equipment, locating problem, and stabilizing operation.
Maintains equipment inventory, databases, schedules, and standard processes, purchases parts. Writes procedures, work reports, and updates technical manuals.
Locates and marks underground utility lines and provides assistance to customers by reviewing and prioritizing work orders, using maps and plans, specialized detection equipment and measuring devices, spray painting or marking the area with whiskers/flags, locating, and tracing underground Fiber Optic cables and troubleshooting problems.
Assists contractors with construction projects by receiving and reviewing maps and plans, attending pre-construction meetings, identifying underground lines, repainting destroyed blue stake marks, monitoring project schedules and resolving unexpected fiber optic cable problems.
Completes and files blue stake work orders, and logs activities.
Ensures that work conforms to local, state and federal government regulations, worker safety and other applicable rules and regulations.
Minimum Education Level & Type: 6 months post High School
Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 1 year bench experience in an electronic systems repair environment
Valid and Unrestricted Class D - Driver's License
