Conducts periodic inspections of work being performed by contractors to insure quality of material used, standards of workmanship, and work progress are in accordance with plans and landscape specifications; makes final inspections of completed projects and recommends acceptance or corrective actions.
Prepares complete specifications for the landscape architectural phases of construction projects; outlines general descriptions of work to be accomplished by contractors; prepares cost estimates and specifies materials and equipment to be used; describes how work is to be performed including processes to be followed, precautions to be taken and special conditions of the work.
Makes independent field interpretations of project drawings and specifications as requested or required.
Coordinates landscape project construction with department personnel, consultants, and contractors, and resolves field problems.
Prepares narrative reports, graphs, charts, and photos to show the status and progress of present projects; conducts research of landscaping problems to support the need for new projects.
Organizes and participates in field survey activities compiling data required for landscape architecture projects including directing survey crew personnel.
Reviews site plans and working drawings of landscape, irrigation, and construction projects; analyzes data on site conditions.
Prepares transmittals, requisitions, reports, and other written communications.
Minimum Education Level & Type: 6 months post High School
Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 1 year inspecting and coordinating contract requirements of landscaping projects
Valid and Unrestricted Class D - Driver's License

The following information pertains to driving requirements for this classification with the City of Tucson. Under "Driving Level" None, Secondary or Primary, refers to the driving responsibility as it relates to the essential functions of the classification. License Type, is just that, the type of Arizona Driving License required for the classification. If the position requires a Commercial Drivers License (CDL), the endorsements will be listed under "Endorsements." Under Safety Sensitive a "Yes" means employees with this classification are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. License Type A,B,C,D,or M may require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage. Exceptions to classification driving requirement's may exist based on position.
