This is a lead position affording guidance to other positions performing the same tasks.
This lead position also reviews workloads, assigns work and coaches employees with specialized instructions and practices for job accomplishments.
Lead personnel may contribute to other employees' performance evaluations, assist with the hiring process by interviewing and making recommendations and providing input to supervisory staff.
Manages projects and oversees the Process Control System and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system to insure uninterrupted delivery of potable and reclaimed water to customers throughout the City of Tucson and in Pima County.
Identifies, evaluates, and troubleshoots system performance issues through reports or customer feedback, develops and implements system policy, directs vendors to resolve issues, designs and updates database information, reviews operations and implements changes during site visits.
Uses computer operating systems, multiple hardware platforms, various programming language servers, programmable logic controllers, network equipment, communication protocols, graphical formatting and display software.
Designs, manages, administers and implements projects for new process control systems, additions to existing systems and capital improvements by defining requirements, preparing specifications, developing scopes of work, creating and maintaining project schedules, managing contract budget issues, scheduling and leading project team meetings and projects, evaluating and making judgments on deliverables, implementing complex software and approving plan deviations.
Develops data archiving techniques, designs databases, generates reports and provides data reporting tools used by the department by creating user-friendly interface tools to retrieve data, training and assisting internal customers to use on-line information sharing, preparing data extraction queries, providing daily reports of real-time data used in policy decisions, incorporating real-time data with data collected by other sections to produce reports, and providing graphs to be published on the City's website.
Optimizes control system strategies to implement cost savings by evaluating system performance to identify potential improvements, developing and optimizing control system strategies, implementing or recommending procedural or policy changes to reduce energy usage and maintenance costs.
Prepares, manages and oversees project budgets by forecasting and monitoring expenditures, approving and overseeing budget changes and payments.

License Type A,B,C,D, or M may require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.
