Oversee all data and systems backup, monitor and report on backups' success.
Create a testing validation cycle and then supervise testing of data restoration for al systems. Develop long term data storage plan. Comply will all relevant federal and state data storage laws and requirements.
Document storage requirements, testing results, capacity utilization, backup monitoring results; direct work activities of positions performing back up and storage management tasks.
Design and manage offsite storage including data failover capability, as well as testing and monitoring plans.
Design, acquire and install the storage architecture for the enterprise.
Manage storage assignments and access rights to storage.
Insure backups will perform to service contracts and implement a plan for backups for all storage.
Perform hardware or software encryption as required, working with vendor(s) to insure compatibility with applications.
Migrate storage between tiers to maximize cost effectiveness.
Develop disaster recovery plan for data restore and system recovery for key applications. Modify plans to accommodate individual department's needs. Maintain a schedule of DR plan reviews and testing.
Must be able to obtain and maintain TPD Security Clearance.

Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.
