Provides support to working groups with IT. Performs system monitoring and maintenance, creating and processing reports, performing updates, technical documentation, and assistance with field work.
Work closely with other engineers and designers in the development of data transport networks, backbone cabling systems, wide area networks, and IT infrastructure utilizing NFPA, NEC, TIA/EIA, and BICSI methods and standards.
Assist engineers with maintaining the scope of work on assigned projects.
Facilitate construction documentation conversion into Computer Aided Design (CAD), Visio and GIS Programs.
Make recommendations for changes in running line or construction methodologies due to knowledge of or experience in environmental conditions, construction access by crews, or congestion of utilities.
Develop, implement, and maintain all engineering, drafting and facilities records, through work order preparation and processing.
Prepare and maintain splicing records and diagrams.
Work closely with engineers, vendors and contractors to ensure that equipment procured and installed meets requirements and specifications.
Assist engineers with reviewing final plans, specifications, special conditions, agreements, and the work of contractors and crews to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and City of Tucson standards.
Assist engineers with organizing the construction and acquisition of optical fiber and data communications systems.
Recognize and repair route issues including Hand Hole cleanup, sign placement, and weed control.
Comprehend, interpret, and make inferences from written material such as engineering plans, blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts, etc.
Minimum Education Level & Type: Associate's Degree
Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 1 year experience in computer hardware and software technical support
