Regularly directs or supervises the work of at least two fulltime employees at the supervisor level in the section. Coordinates assigned supervisory personnel and their projects ensuring timely and quality activities for the benefit of the section, division, department, City and the community.
Oversees the planning, implementation, direction and management of all functions and resources of the section to achieve the strategic objectives of the department and the City in an efficient and effective manner.
Assists with the implementation and evaluation of department policies, programs, projects and procedures.
Assists with implementing the department vision through section activities and leads the section to maximum employee productivity and morale through hiring, disciplining, evaluating employee performance, investigating and resolving grievances and other coordinating human resources actions.
Develops and administers the section budget with staff assistance.
Analyzes organization and community needs, analyzes trends, reviews statistics and opportunities, communicates to the department leadership of impending developments.
Develops strategic partnerships and contacts with community representatives, external agencies, and other organizations to develop a sense of relevant issues facing our community and to respond as a representative of the City.
Implements the values of the organization through example and accountabilities.
Ensures that section operations conform with local, state, and federal governmental regulations and other applicable rules and requirements.
Facilitates solutions to problems facing the department.
Maintains technical or professional knowledge through such means as attending seminars, reviewing professional publications, taking classes and participating in developmental activities.
Supervises operations of a court section by planning, monitoring performance, scheduling and coordinating training, facilitating meetings, conducting interviews, informing personnel of changes to policies and procedures, completing performance evaluations, providing support, resolving issues, and providing information.
Manages operations by developing and implementing methods to increase the quality and efficiency of work, providing assistance to internal and external customers, maintaining logs and records, compiling and analyzing statistical information, preparing various reports, determining workload shortages and staffing needs, coordinating work with other departments, evaluating procedures and making recommendations for improvements.
Submits budget proposals, relating to equipment and staffing needs, making budget adjustments, and monitoring expenditures.
Performs related duties by serving on committees, acting as a liaison to outside organizations, Maintains technical or professional knowledge through such means as attending seminars, and developing contract specifications.
Minimum Education Level & Type: Associate's Degree
Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 3 years supervisory experience in a court or public sector setting, including budgeting.

The following information pertains to driving requirements for this classification with the City of Tucson. Under "Driving Level" None, Secondary or Primary, refers to the driving responsibility as it relates to the essential functions of the classification. License Type, is just that, the type of Arizona Driving License required for the classification. If the position requires a Commercial Drivers License (CDL), the endorsements will be listed under "Endorsements." Under Safety Sensitive a "Yes" means employees with this classification are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. License Type A,B,C,D,or M may require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage. Exceptions to classification driving requirement's may exist based on position.
