Stays current on the latest trends in emerging technology and digital technology usage
Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations, and legacy systems for alignment and coordinates and consults with IT and other City Departments to create plans for integration and update into architecture
Assist in the technology portion of the project development, strategy and direction, partnering with the IT Department
Designs, develops, and introduces new methods and techniques that significantly impact service, process, and/or operation
Participates in a highly collaborate environment, in coordination and consultation with IT, to plan and implement technology solutions and backups, share knowledge, and demonstrate capabilities
Collaborates with all City Departments to develop a system to collect, track, and analyze data through working knowledge of development processes, methodologies, tools, metrics and statistics
Produces research, data analytics, and reporting related to innovation projects
Coordinates and manages innovation technology projects; builds detailed solution design paths for implementation
Problem analysis and solution development providing architectural recommendations using methodologies appropriate for the circumstances, such as Agile development methodology
Collaborates closely with and liaisons between directors, project managers, staff, and elected officials to identify customer needs, create solutions, and support projects in alignment with the greater City vision and goals
Facilitates proof of concepts to demonstrate the value of technology and use cases
Performs related work as required
Minimum Education Level & Type: Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 3 years of experience in professional level information technology work utilizing analytical and quantitative skills, including the ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and recommendations

Under "Driving Level" None, Secondary or Primary, refers to the driving responsibility as it relates to the essential functions of the classification. License Type, is just that, the type of Arizona Driving License required for the classification. If the position requires a Commercial Drivers License (CDL), the endorsements will be listed under "Endorsements." Under Safety Sensitive a "Yes" means employees with this classification are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. License Type A,B,C,D,or M may require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage. Exceptions to classification driving requirement's may exist based on position.
