Works closely with the City Manager’s Office to provide ongoing status updates and reports and identify funding opportunities.
Identifies grant funding opportunities and needs through federal, state, private and other sources.
Conducts research, identifies grant funding opportunities, and researches, analyzes and develops grant funding sources.
Develops relationships and collaborates with external resources in the areas of grant development, training, grant funding sources.
Implements and monitors administrative procedures and controls for grant applications.
Interprets and applies program/project requirements, monitors budgets, writes reports.
Responds effectively to inquiries and provides information regarding program requirements.
Prepares and maintains a variety of written reports and related correspondence.
Collaborates with and provides assistance to City departments in the identification of grant funds, grant writing, and the financial aspects of grant management and grant compliance.
Establishes and maintains cooperative working contacts with the community and other governmental agencies to identify and coordinate joint funding grants.
Prepares information on award nominations for public dissemination.
Minimum Education Level & Type: Bachelor's Degree
Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 2 years of professional experience researching the availability of grants, analyzing grant requirements, and/or writing grants

The following information pertains to driving requirements for this classification with the City of Tucson. Under "Driving Level" None, Secondary or Primary, refers to the driving responsibility as it relates to the essential functions of the classification. License Type, is just that, the type of Arizona Driving License required for the classification. If the position requires a Commercial Drivers License (CDL), the endorsements will be listed under "Endorsements." Under Safety Sensitive a "Yes" means employees with this classification are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. License Type A,B,C,D,or M may require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage. Exceptions to classification driving requirement's may exist based on position.
