Provide public meeting support, including identifying interested parties, preparing notices, mailings, identifying meeting locations, set up, logistics and overall moderation of group discussions on a variety law enforcement topics, to include but not limited to use of force, transparency, procedural justice and general policy matters.
Responsible for public event support at special ceremonies, forums, conferences, seminars and any other special event in a manner that advances TPD relationships with minority communities, advocacy groups and other key stakeholders.
Oversee educational programs regarding police community relations, including the creation of educational materials (print/video/internet/radio) for distribution to minority communities, advocacy groups and other key stakeholders. Provide training to TPD members on crime prevention, community outreach, advocacy, and other issues as identified by the Chief of Police or designee.
Expand social media presence and/or support by community participation in TPD Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms. Produce reports identifying growth numbers, benchmarks and key influencers as well as determining impact achieved. Develop new and innovative ways of engagement with minority and low income communities.
Manage specific concept, content, and program support to TPD staff in the following areas: Expand current recruitment efforts and opportunities. Develop and attract a diverse group of participants for the TPD Volunteer and Reserve programs. Develop and attract a diverse group of participants for the TPD Explorer program. Develop and attract a diverse group of participants for the TPD POTC.
Deliver written project reports and deliverables on a monthly basis or as determined by the Chief of Police or designee. Provide general administrative and substantive support for all projects as assigned by the Chief of Police or designee.

Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 5 years of combination experience in marketing, and in a community liaison, volunteer coordinator or related field

Under Safety Sensitive a "Yes" means employees with this classification are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. License Type A,B,C,D,or M may require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.
