Coordinates parking and mobility elements of the City’s Comprehensive Mobility Plan, including the monitoring of plan elements and periodic evaluation and appraisal of the Plan with subsequent major updates and amendments; coordinates parking/mobility elements of the City’s Municipal Code, including periodic evaluation and appraisal of the Code with subsequent major updates and amendments.
On a project basis, oversees and coordinates with staff in parking/mobility planning projects, such as commercial and neighborhood area wide parking/mobility plans; and assisting with development of conceptual plans.
Coordinates and reviews development of short-range and long-range parking/mobility plans in conjunction with municipal officials.
Oversees the management and operation of the City’s shared Micromobility program, to include soliciting public input, develops and shares media and outreach of educational components for the program, and coordinates with the contracted vendors to ensure compliance with program requirements.
Oversees the management of special programs relating to parking and Micromobility, to include securing appropriate funding, developing, and sharing public education documentation, coordinating public/community events, and ensuring the successful redemption process of the vouchers for both Tampa residents and participating bike shops.
Serves as liaison with other governmental officials, agencies, and neighborhood associations to coordinate parking/mobility planning efforts and to develop and maintain funding sources; prepares reports and correspondence; replies to parking/mobility related inquiries from the general public and from governmental agencies on policy, petitions, ordinances; coordinates present and future needs of the department with other agencies and stakeholders; documents and tracks parking/mobility programs and projects for internal and external reporting.
Interprets codes and regulations to ensure compliance with same; research, identify, review, and analyze potential grant and other funding sources, where appropriate; reviews publications to maintain awareness of planning developments and changes in governmental programs and regulations.
Performs related work as required.Comprehensive knowledge of: principles and practices of urban planning; management systems. Extensive knowledge of: federal, state and municipal legislation impacting municipal planning efforts; methods of collection and analysis of planning data and research design and methodology; modern developments, current literature and sources of information relating to professional planning, grants acquisition and administration, and project management.
Considerable knowledge of: City and regional planning principles and practices and possess or be capable of readily acquiring knowledge of broad program or subject areas associated with assigned specialty. An emphasis on coordinated transportation/infrastructure and land use planning; and possess or be capable of readily acquiring knowledge of City of Tampa program planning areas and implementation functions of municipal governments.
Skill in: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ArcMap, and ArcMap Pro.
Ability to: operate a lightweight motor vehicle, compile, and analyze data; collect, assimilate, analyze, and interpret data and draw sound conclusions; prepare oral and written reports and impart them effectively; formulate sound recommendations and present them effectively; establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinate personnel, other employees, municipal officials, and the general public.
Evaluation of education and experience. Drug testing is included in all pre-employment processing.
