Plans, organizes and supervises daily operation of the State licensed David L. Tippin drinking water production facility; supervises water production chemistry, treatment, filtration, and solids removal and dewatering systems to insure adherence to water quality standards. Maintains proper levels and flows to and from the water resevoir.
Supervises and inspects chemical feed systems of liquid, dry and gaseous chemicals used in treatment to determine status and insure proper system operation; insures chemical handling, safety, storage and procurement procedures are followed; enforces procedures for handling chemical spills and accidental chemical releases.
Develops pumping procedures for operation of low and high service pumping to insure efficient operation, including pumping hydraulics, pump curves, pump equipment and valving and associated equipment. Maintains treatment chemical inventory control, ordering systems, and storage levels for chemicals used; assures water production standard operating procedures are complete, up-to-date and strictly followed by operational personnel; coordinates maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance with maintenance supervision; supervises maintenance and repair of pumps and control systems of 240 volts or less.
Prepares annual budget estimates; reviews expenditures and computes operational costs; prepares and maintains production records and reports; prepares technical evaluations as directed.
Performs related work as required. Is acting manager in the absence of management.
Possession of a valid drivers license may be required.
Evaluation of education and experience. Drug testing is included in all pre-employment processing.
