Develop, oversee and help implement programs and projects that support the City of Tampa’s vision and short and long-term plans.
Work closely with managers, directors, and administrators to monitor progress and correct course when necessary; attends and represents the Mayor at community events, school and service meetings.
Develop project proposals, charters, progress reports, grant applications and other documents and presentations needed to carry out the City of Tampa’s strategic initiatives.
Researches, analyzes and provides recommendations regarding difficult, sensitive, important and wide-ranging policy areas.
Networks and builds relationships with community stakeholders.
Attends evening engagements and travels outside of the City.
Performs related work as required.
Considerable knowledge of: of public relations and public information dissemination practices and procedures; federal and state legislative processes and informational sources relating to legislative actions; related federal and state laws.
Ability to: establish and maintain effective working relationships with City officials, directors, legislators and their aides, representatives of intergovernmental boards, and committees; write and speak clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings; perform research and prepare information reports; initiate, analyze, and monitor the status of strategic initiatives set forth by the Mayor.
