This is highly responsible supervisory work in the facility’s operational maintenance and security of the City’s Parking Division.
Under administrative direction, the employee in this class directs and manages a comprehensive program for the maintenance, repair and security of the Parking Division. Work is of unusual difficulty, requiring the employee to exercise extensive initiative and independent judgement in programs as they relate to routine repair and capital improvement projects (CIP) of the Parking Division facilities. Tasks also include oversight of the performance of the facilities security by staff or contractors. Includes designing security programs, implementing and managing proper security protocols that safeguard the facilities and surrounding property; monitor, supervise and direct access control and camera systems, work closely with law enforcement agencies. Work is reviewed through conferences, reports submitted, and results obtained.
Extensive knowledge of: facility management and public service; facilities maintenance, and asset management; occupational hazards and safety practices and methods of promoting safety practices among building maintenance; modern management practices and procedures; modern theories, principles and practices of facilities maintenance and repair, techniques, tools and materials.
Considerable knowledge of: appropriate regulations, and ordinances; practices and methods of operation; occupational hazards, appropriate safety precautions.
Working knowledge of: basic records keeping and report writing; contracting services, developing specifications and managing contracts
Ability to: effectively manage the work of a large, diversified staff; plan, organize, and coordinate parking facilities operational management and security activities; prepare oral and written reports and impart them effectively; establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinate personnel, other employees, municipal officials, and the general public.
Skill in: project and people management.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, accounting, finance, engineering or a related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience overseeing a large parking operation, facility management, security operations or related field;

An equivalent combination of education (not less than
possession of a high school diploma/GED), training and experience that would
reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted above.
Possession of a valid driver’s license required.
