Collaborates, co-manages, and supports the accountability elements with internal and external subject matter expertise on major projects design-build elements, sustainability and resilience, community engagement.
Provides
project management for the Water department in a timely, cost-effective manner.
Plans, organizes, executes, and
presents status reports on project mission, goals, and objectives.
Establishes and maintains lines of communication between various groups, emphasizing the effectiveness of working together in reaching common goals and objectives.
May assist with coordination of the funding needs.
May serve on boards, commissions, committees, etc. as a representative of the city. Attends meetings, including but not limited to staff meetings; neighborhood meetings; advocacy group meetings; citizen advisory group meetings.
Coordinates with the water communications coordinator regarding issues and events of current media interest.
Performs
related work as required.
Comprehensive
knowledge of:
principles and practices of public sector organization and program operations;
project management, including planning, scheduling, monitoring, and problem
solving; methods and procedures of budget development and control.
Extensive
knowledge of:
modern management practices and procedures; federal, state, and local
legislation impacting areas of responsibility; municipal administration and
organization, modern
developments, current literature, and sources of information relating to community
infrastructure and construction development.
Ability
to: write and speak clearly and succinctly in a
variety of communication settings; establish and maintain effective working
relationships with city officials, managers, the media, and others; plan,
assign, direct, and coordinate the work of employees in a manner than promotes
full performance; set clear objectives and measures and monitor process,
progress and results; diffuse potentially difficult situations in a manner
suitable to all parties involved.
Skill
in: handling
and resolving difficult situations
Possession
of a valid driver’s license required.
Registration
as a Professional Engineer in the state of Florida required.
