Initiates and executes special public relations and business development programs.
Advocates the significance of redevelopment through marketing and public relations initiatives to external stakeholders.
Represents the City, collaborating with Citizen boards, commissions, and public/private officials on city-related redevelopment issues.
Serves as the districts primary point of contact for media inquiries regarding redevelopment.
Facilitates public meetings using Robert's Rules of Order.
Establishes and maintains positive relationships with community members, stakeholders, Board of Directors, and City staff.
Participates in the acquisition, marketing, and disposition of city-owned real estate property.
Maintains databases and reporting systems to monitor and evaluate redevelopment progress.
Participates in intradepartmental performance improvement initiatives to enhance redevelopment efforts.
Prepares and manages annual budgets.
Administers Tax Increment Financing (TIF) to ensure timely expenditures of funds.
Works with staff to implement Community Redevelopment Plans.
Monitors progress and provides regular reports.
Performs related work as required.
Knowledge of: Proficiency in the Community Redevelopment Act, Chapter 163, Part III (163.330-163.463); state and municipal redevelopment principles and practices.
Skills in: strong urban planning and technical skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to: supervise and guide other managers effectively; innovative thinking to address redevelopment challenges.
Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, urban planning, or a related field from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of experience in a manager or supervisory role on private and/or public development projects and initiatives in an urban core setting, demonstrating success in community building and working with diverse stakeholders.
Evaluation of education and experience. Drug testing is included in all pre-employment processing.
