Introduction
This is responsible systems administrator and analysis work at the senior level.
Nature Of Work
An employee in this role handles a variety
of technical programming and systems analysis tasks that are moderately
complex. They coordinate and oversee specific assignments for technical project
team members. Responsibilities include designing, developing or modifying,
testing, and implementing information technology systems, programs, and
procedures. Employees collaborate with personnel, functional information system
staff, and other project team members to resolve technical issues. Operating
under general supervision, employees are expected to use initiative and
independent judgment when selecting work methods and performing tasks. This
role may involve being on-call on a rotating basis to provide 24/7 support.
Work is reviewed during progress and upon completion via discussions and
reports.
Examples of Duties
Provides M365 and Hybrid
services and expertise to the organization, managing tenant-level policies for
tools like SharePoint, OneDrive, and MS Teams. Implements access controls and
patch management for security. Applies updates and documents configurations,
procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Participates in training to
stay current with new technologies and best practices. Optimizes processes and
security, collaborating with team members, users, and vendors for project
implementation and support. Conducts cost/benefit analyses, technical research,
and prepares reports on findings.

years experience administration and support of Microsoft Group Policy and
Active Directory; advanced
working knowledge for supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 products; experience
in design, configuring, and troubleshooting MEM; working
knowledge of common best practices for project management procedures; ability
to manage/coordinate small to medium size technical projects; skilled
at balancing technical decisions with security and end user impacts; advanced
verbal and written communication skills; advanced
research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability
to: manage,
support and administer Microsoft 365 environment; provide Tier 3 support for
enterprise-wide systems; work within established
configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the environment; administer
and support Microsoft Group Policy and Active Directory; work
with IT security for related projects and initiatives; XDR
agent deployment, monitoring operational status, and ensuring proper security
policies are in place; use
enterprise management systems to enforce policies and procedures; monitor
the status of open work orders for themselves and their team; on
Call for after-hour support as needed; provide
written documentation, including reports and technical drawings.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an
accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in computer science
or a related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience
in computer programming or systems analysis; or Graduation from an accredited college
or university with an associate's degree in computer science or a related field
and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in computer
programming, systems analysis.
Licenses or Certifications
Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license may be required.
Examination
Evaluation of education and experience. Drug testing is included in all pre-employment processing.
Comments
Employees
may be required to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays,
and overtime as needed. During periods when the Mayor issues an emergency
declaration for the City of Tampa, all employees may be required to work in
preparation, response or recovery activities related to the stated emergency.
