The Mental Health Services Manager (Senior) plans, organizes, directs and supervises the operations of a mental health program or programs within the Health and Social Services Department; assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to one or more of service areas; provides staff support to higher level management within the assigned division; serves as a member of the department's management/supervisory team.
The Mental Health Services Manager (Senior) has responsibility for the ongoing management of complex Community Mental Health programs with multiple funding sources and reporting requirements, policy formulation and a broad scope of community service delivery. The Manager also has responsibility for developing and implementing integrated County-wide program activities whose goals, objectives and policies have considerable impact.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible experience in a Mental Health program of which one year was in a management capacity.
Education: A Master's degree is required from an accredited college or university with a major in Psychology, Social Work or a related field.
Other Requirements:
Depending upon assignment, incumbents in this class may be required to possess a valid licensed Marriage, Family Therapist (MFT) license as issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license, or a valid license as a Psychologist issued by the California Board of Psychology.
Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C California driver's license may be required.

Solano County offers a cafeteria-style medical package with health benefits, offered through CalPERS. The County contribution for family coverage for the 2023 calendar year is $1,900.58 per month. The County offers a cash back provision for those who choose employee-only or who waive medical insurance coverage. The County may offer a supplemental contribution for employees enrolled in Employee plus Two or More coverage.
Dental and vision insurances for the employee and eligible dependents are paid 100% by the County.
Solano County participates in CalPERS retirement and contributes to Social Security.
The County observes 12 full day fixed and 2 half day fixed paid holidays per year. Additionally, employees in this bargaining unit receive 2 floating paid holiday per year.
Vacation is accrued at approximately 10 days per year for the first 3 years. Sick leave accrues at approximately 12 days per year.
Employees are eligible to receive an additional 2.5% longevity pay, per level, after the completion of continuous service at 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years.
