THE POSITION

The current Human Resources Analyst (Journey) vacancy is assigned to support the Human Resources Personnel, Recruiting & Testing team. The Human Resources Analyst  (Journey) is an "at-will" senior management position and is exempt from civil service. Incumbents serve at the discretion of the Appointment Authority.


The Human Resources Analyst performs professional level to complex personnel work in employee recruitment, selection, position classification, employee relations, training, employee benefits, workers' compensation and/or affirmative action; conducts analytical studies into personnel and human resources issues; provides staff support to the County's management team.


The current vacancy is for a full-time position; however, this list may be used for future vacancies as the need arises.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:

Experience: Two (2) years of professional level experience in human resources work including recruitment, selection, classification, labor relations or risk management.

 

Education/Training: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources or a related field.

BENEFITS/ WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

Solano County offers a cafeteria-style medical package with health benefits, offered through CalPERS. The County contribution for family coverage for the 2022 calendar year is $1,671.27 per month. The County offers a cash back provision for those who choose employee-only or who waive medical insurance coverage. The County may offer a supplemental contribution for employees enrolled in Employee plus Two or More coverage.

Dental and vision insurances for the employee and eligible dependents are paid 100% by the County.

Solano County participates in CalPERS retirement and contributes to Social Security.

The County observes twelve (12) full day fixed and two (2) half day fixed paid holidays, and one (1) floating holiday per year.

Vacation is accrued at 15 days per year.

Effective July 1st of each year, employees are granted 80 hours of Administrative Leave. Unused Administrative Leave at the end of the Fiscal Year is converted and paid into a Retirement Health Savings account in early July.

Sick leave is earned at 3.70 hours per pay period. 

Employees in this class are also eligible to receive an additional 2.5% longevity pay, per level, after the completion of continuous service at 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years. Employees may receive credit for prior years of service employed with California cities, counties, joint power authorities and other special districts as approved by the Director of Human Resources and the County Administrator.

Extra-help employees who work less than 29 hours per week do not typically receive or accrue benefits of regular employees during their period of employment. All extra-help employees accrue .034 hours of Sick Leave for every full hour worked.

SELECTION PROCESS
