The Solano County Department of Information Technology (DOIT) invites you to apply for the position of Information Technology Analyst IV - Security in our Network and Mobility Division.
This position is responsible for the design, configuration, maintenance and operation of the security infrastructure and video surveillance systems, Web Filtering systems, Cisco ISE and IPS/IDS systems.
The ideal candidate will have the following desired knowledge:
§ Cisco firewalls installation and Configuration
§ Palo Alto Firewalls Installation and configurations
§ Routing and Switching design
§ Network Performance Tuning
§ Configuration and Management of security appliance
§ Virtual Firewall design & configurations
§ Experience with Log Management systems
§ Project Management
§ Disaster Recovery documentation
§ Video Surveillance systems
The ideal candidate will have the following desired qualifications:
§ Intermediate level experience in design, installation, configuration, operation, maintenance of the Cisco security infrastructure
§ Intermediate level proficiency in Cisco IOS on s networking technologies including TCP/IP, DHCP, VLAN, various LAN and WAN technologies
§ Advanced level understanding of network security methodologies, encryption domains
§ Proficiency in Cisco IOS, both Cisco Nexus and non-Nexus series, to work on Cisco switches, Cisco routers, firewalls and other Cisco networking gear
§ Experience supporting video surveillance
§ Experience with configuring Web Filtering system
§ Experience with Open DNS /Umbrella DNS threat protection systems
§ Advanced experience in documenting networks and creating run books and other supporting configuration documents
§ Expert knowledge and experience in network performance monitoring; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization
§ Knowledge and experience in developing network disaster recovery plans.
§ Knowledge and working experience in project management using tools and concepts from the Project Management Institute (PMI) best practices
§ Knowledge and working level experience of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) methodology
§ Advance experience in written and verbal communication skills

Solano County offers a cafeteria-style medical package with health benefits, offered through CalPERS. The County contribution for family coverage for the 2018 calendar year is $1,520.73 per month. The County offers a cash back provision for those who choose employee-only or who waive medical insurance coverage. The County may offer a supplemental contribution for employees enrolled in Employee plus Two or More coverage. Dental and vision insurances for the employee and eligible dependents are paid 100% by the County.
Solano County participates in CalPERS retirement and contributes to Social Security.
The County observes 12 fixed, paid holidays per year.
Vacation is accrued at approximately 10 days per year for the first 3 years.
Sick leave accrues at approximately 12 days per year.
Employees are eligible to receive an additional 2.5% longevity pay, per level, after the completion of continuous service at 10, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years.

Extra-help employees who work less than 29 hours per week do not typically receive or accrue benefits of regular employees during their period of employment. All extra-help employees accrue .034 hours of Paid Time Off for every full hour worked.

Equivalent of an Associate's Degree is required for this position, except when experience is greater than the required five (5) years, in which case additional experience may substitute on a year for year basis for the education requirements. Education: Equivalent to an Associate’s degree, preferably in information technology, or a closely related field.
Experience: Depending upon assignment: Five (5) years of experience performing progressively responsible software development, or infrastructure management duties and functions.
Note: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in information technology, management information systems may be substituted for two years of experience.
Note: Additional experience may substitute on a year for year basis for the educational requirement.
