The Position

This position provides regular Monday through Friday hours! Additionally, it does not require any “on-call” time as the County offers 24/7 crisis services through a contracted Crisis Stabilization Unit. Clinic Psychiatrists generally schedule patients for 6.5 hours of an 8 hour work day. Unscheduled time allows for documentation time, telephone calls, or other activities. Administrative support is provided by Medical Assistants and Office Assistants, though the County provides psychiatrists training and the psychiatrist is expected to complete appropriate documentation in the electronic health record for maximum efficiency.

Psychiatrists perform psychiatric evaluations and diagnoses of assigned clients; develop, monitor, and evaluate appropriate treatment plans associated with psychotropic medication strategies and other support services for out-patient clients; perform and monitor a variety of administrative tasks/functions in support of assigned program areas/division services; provide psychiatric consultation or guidance to PA or NP colleagues; and participate as a psychiatric resource/member of inter-disciplinary program teams within the Division/Health and Social Services Department.

The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill full-time and part-time regular, limited-term or extra-help positions as vacancies occur or the need arises.
