Asst Technical Director (#TS9212)
DEFINITIONUnder supervision this temporary seasonal position is responsible for certain technical aspects of theatrical production an works closely with the Technical Director, Artistic Director and other Theater Arts Project staff and participants to stage a full-scale theatrical production. TYPICAL DUTIESParticipates in the planning and organizing of technical aspects of the theatrical production. Typical duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Provide technical supervision and guidance to participants. · Assist the Technical Director in selection of participants. · Ensure compliance with the production schedule. · Ensure compliance with safety regulations. · Administer daily lesson plans. · Supervise and evaluate program participants. · Provide technical input to other TAP staff. · Complete program paperwork. · Counsels participants on work-related issues. · Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSLicense: Possession of a valid California Drivers License. Education: Completion of 60 semester units in Theatre Arts or related field. OR Experience: Six months of experience working as a stage hand, technical assistant, or an artistic capacity in a stage or theatrical production. OR Experience: Six months of experience working in construction preferably in a theatrical setting. KNOWLEDGEBlueprints, safe and proper use of construction materials and tools, daily lesson plan implementation, production schedule implementation, supervision and leadership, and child labor laws. ABILITYRead, write and understand English; supervise approximately 20-30 youth; provide clear and concise direction to participants and staff; learn and interpret basic program rules, regulations and procedures; follow oral and written direction; complete program paperwork including participant evaluations, and timesheets; work approximately 35 hours per week during summer months.
