This is for a Permanent Exempt (PEX), Full-Time position not to exceed three (3) years. This position is excluded by the Charter from the competitive civil service examination process, is considered "at will", and shall serve at the discretion of the appointing officer.
Under general direction of the IS Project Director, this position is responsible for supporting APD’s Active Directory (AD), automating AD’s group policies through scripting, developing and maintaining Sharepoint sites and applications systems and business functions of the Adult Probation Department. Essential functions include: Perform administration of APD’s Microsoft AD, automate AD’s group policies; responsible for conversion of APD to City’s Outlook email system; develop, implement and maintain Sharepoint site including workflow development and other applications in Sharepoint; configure APD’s file scanning solution; perform installation, configuration, testing and debug the APD’s systems; provide analysis and technical support for APD’s systems; troubleshoot APD’s systems problems to find solutions; install, configure and support n-tier web applications; document APD’s business processes; create flow charts and data diagrams using Visio, and write technical and user documentation; provide technical level expertise and support required for successful implementation of APD’s new Case Management, Risk/Needs assessment and Electronic File integrated systems system and Sharepoint implementation, support and continues development; identify opportunities for operational improvements of APD’s existing systems; analyze requirements and costs of implementing service requests; determine and analyze operating characteristics and requirements; develop or update coding routines; create test plan, provide migration support to users and resolve problems for implantation of APD’s Electronic File system and Case Management and provide migration support to users; implement APD’s Electronic File and SharePoint systems; prepare and maintain technical and user instructions, and provide training on new procedures; monitor and schedule production jobs; review status of submitted jobs; analyze and resolve problems as necessary and/or resubmit jobs; provide technical assistance for APD hardware and/or software to ensure system availability and timely and accurate reporting; document issues and possible solutions/recovery procedures; determining requirements for the development or enhancement of APD’s systems; participate in designing, planning, integration, testing, implementation, documentation and enhancement APD’s infrastructure, Case management and Electronic filing systems; participate in planning, implementing and maintaining upgrades, updates, and fixes for APD’s systems and their related components, without negative impact to the overall availability and reliability of the enterprise systems/networks; document procedures and troubleshooting techniques related to systems/networks software and hardware; develop and review documentation prior to general distribution.
