Minimum Qualification Supplemental Questionnaire

1053 – Senior IS Business Analyst

This supplemental questionnaire will be used to determine that you meet the minimum qualifications for the 1053 – Senior IS Business Analyst position.  Responses to items must be supported by the information provided on the application and is subject to verification.

Please be sure to include all relevant education and experience in the work history and education sections of the application. A resume will not substitute for this supplemental questionnaire or for a completed application.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

EDUCATION:

An associate degree in computer science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units [i.e., at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units in computer science or a closely-related field]

AND

EXPERIENCE:

Three (3) years in the information systems field, including system analysis, business process design, development and implementation of business application solutions or IT project management.

SUBSTITUTION:

Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units / forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units in computer science or a closely related field.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

In addition to the Minimum Qualifications above, applicants must have the following experience in order to qualify:

1. Three (3) years of recent and verifiable experience in applications analysis, design, and development, installing and maintaining complex systems, and project management of applications development professionals

AND

2. Three (3) years of recent and verifiable experience in information system business process design.

NOTE: Qualifying experience can be gained concurrently. The above minimum qualifications reflect special conditions associated with the position to be filled and may differ from the standard minimum qualifications associated with this class.

The purpose of this Supplemental Questionnaire (SQ) is to describe your training and experience as they relate to the knowledge, skills, and abilities linked to the essential functions of this 1053 Senior IS Business Analyst position (please refer to the job announcement for a more detailed description of these knowledge, skills and abilities).

Only the information you provide in your answers to these questions will be evaluated to determine your score in the selection process for this position. No attachments or additional documents such as resumes, cover letters, or employment applications will be considered (i.e. Writing ‘see resume’ or ’N/A’ is not a sufficient response).

The SQ will be presented to an expert review panel for an assessment and will be used as the examination process to determine candidates' score and rank on the eligible list. This Supplemental Questionnaire will account for 100% of the total weight of candidates’ final scores. Insufficient or non-responsive answers and/or answers that are plagiarized or have falsified information may result in disqualification from the recruitment process.
