Supplemental Questionnaire (PBT-0932-088952)

The purpose of this supplemental questionnaire is designed to assess your education and/or experience as it/they relate to the knowledge, skills, and abilities linked to this 0932 Manager IV, Accounting Manager, Public Works position. The information you provide on this questionnaire will be used in evaluating whether you possess the education, and/or experience required for this position.  The supplemental questionnaire will be used to assess possession of minimum qualifications and to determine candidates’ score on the Supplemental Questionnaire Evaluation. Of interest are the knowledge, skills and abilities you have acquired through the years of experience that relate to the essential functions identified for positions in this position. Describe in detail and provide specific examples of your leadership and financial experience in a large, complex organization that best qualifies you for the Accounting Manager position at Public Works. Specifically include in your response:

1. A description of the most relevant roles and levels of responsibility in your professional work experience as they relate to this position;
2. A description of the internal and external relationships you were responsible for maintaining that are most relevant to this position;
3. A description of your experience in developing policies and procedures and recommending changes for improvement.
4. The number and level of staff that you have managed in your professional experiences that are most relevant to this position.

Describe in detail and provide specific experiences in applying complex accounting treatments in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). Include in your response:

1. A detailed description of your experience overseeing the accounting of and financial reporting for federal and state grants and/or bond-funded projects or programs;
2. A detailed description of your experience overseeing fixed asset accounting;
3. A detailed description of your experience overseeing financial or performance audits.

Describe a project that you identified and provided leadership to specifically improved accounting operational efficiency of your organization. Your response should include:

1. A detailed narrative of the problem identified and its importance to the organization;
2. Your leadership role, responsibility, and corrective actions;
3. A description of other staff and stakeholders involved;
4. A detailed description of the process of identifying and implementing change and any measurable outcomes achieved as a result.
