MQ Instructions:  The purpose of these MQ questions is to obtain specific information regarding your education and experience in relation to the position for which you are applying. Notes on Qualifying Experience and Education:

Note A. Qualifying professional-level analytical experience must be in one or more of the following functional areas: complex budget analysis, development and administration; complex financial/fiscal analysis and reporting; development of complex contracting systems and administration of competitive bid processes and complex contractual agreements; development and evaluation of complex management/administrative policy; complex grant administration and monitoring; complex program evaluation and planning; complex legislative analysis; complex economic analysis; or other functional areas related to the duties of positions in Class 1823, where the primary focus of the job is complex professional-level analysis for evaluation, recommendation, development and implementation of major programs and functions of department/organization. Analytical experience equivalent to the duties of Class 1822 is considered qualifying.

Note B. Coursework applicable to a baccalaureate or higher degree in specialized subject matter areas such as public or business administration, management, business law, contract law, public policy, urban studies, economics, statistical analysis, finance, accounting or other fields of study closely related to the essential functions of positions in Class 1823.

Possession of a graduate degree (Master's degree or higher) from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience performing professional level analytical work as described in Note A.
Possession of a graduate degree (Master's degree or higher) from an accredited college or university with major college coursework as described in Note B and two (2) years full-time equivalent experience performing professional level analytical work as described in Note A.
Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years full-time equivalent experience performing professional level analytical work as described in Note A.
Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with major college coursework as described in Note B and three (3) years full-time equivalent performing professional level analytical work as described in Note A.
I do not possess a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, but I have completed at least 2 years of college/university units AND I have at least six (6) years of full-time equivalent experience in budget analysis, financial analysis AND reporting, legislative/policy analysis, or contract/grant administration.
I do not possess a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, but I have completed at least 2 years of college/university units in public or business administration, management, business law, contract law, public policy, urban studies, economics, statistical analysis, finance, accounting or other fields of study closely related to the essential functions of class 1823, AND I have at least five (5) years of full-time equivalent experience in budget analysis, financial analysis AND reporting, legislative/policy analysis, or contract/grant administration.

SQ INSTRUCTIONS:  PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY AS THEY CONTAIN INFORMATION THAT MAY AFFECT YOUR EXAMINATION SCORE AND RANK ON THE ELIGIBILE LIST:

The purpose of this Supplemental Questionnaire (SQ) is to describe your training and experience as they relate to the knowledge, skills, and abilities linked to the essential functions of this 1823 Senior Administrative Analyst position (please refer to the job announcement for a more detailed description of these knowledge, skills and abilities). Only candidates who pass the 1823 Senior Administrative Analyst Core Exam will have their essay questions scored.

Only the information you provide in your answers to these questions will be evaluated to determine your score in this selection component of the examination. NO attachments or additional documents such as resumes, cover letters, or employment applications will be considered (i.e. Providing an external weblink, writing ‘see resume', 'see application', 'details upon request', or ’N/A’ is NOT a sufficient response). Please do not paste your resume as a response. Insufficient or non-responsive answers and/or answer that are plagiarized or have falsified information may result in disqualification from the recruitment process. The SQ may be presented to an expert review panel for an assessment and will be used as part of the examination process to determine candidates' score and rank on the eligible list. Panel members involved in the rating process will not have access to your application and resume, so it is important that your answers are comprehensive. Assume your raters do not know what you do. Please provide your best or highest examples of work. Use good grammar, and avoid using jargon.

This SQ will account for 50% of the total weight of the final score. (The 1823 Senior Administrative Analyst Core Exam accounts for 50% of the total weight of the final score.)

It is suggested that you review the questions before starting, prepare your thorough narrative-style responses in a word processing document, and then paste them into the questionnaire. Please read each question carefully, as there may be follow-up questions.
