Definition of Experience: Stationary Engineers perform maintenance, repair and operation of a variety of mechanical and electrical pumping, heating, air conditioning, ventilating and related plant machinery used in a governmental establishment, hospital, industrial, production or commercial building.
One year (2,000 hours) of journey level experience
Two years (4,000 hours) of journey level experience
Three years (6,000 hours) of journey level experience
Four years (8,000 hours) of journey level experience
Five or more years of journey level experience
I do not have any journey level experience as a Stationary Engineer

Any of the following can be substituted for the required four (4) years of journey level experience:
I have completed a recognized four (4) year Stationary Engineer apprenticeship program
I graduated from a four (4) year Maritime Academy with a degree in engineering or technology
I have at least a 3rd Assistant Marine Engineer's Lincense of any (unrestricted horsepower)
I do not need to substitute for experience as I have four (4) years of journey level experience as a Statiionary Engineer
I do not have any of the substitutions listed in the above
