The purpose of this Supplemental Questionnaire (SQ) Exam is to describe your training and experience as they relate to the knowledge, skills, and abilities linked to the essential functions of this 0931 Manager III position (please refer to the job announcement for a more detailed description of these knowledge, skills and abilities).

Questions 4 through 8 will be evaluated and scored. Only the information you provide in your answers to these questions will be evaluated to determine your score in the selection process for this position. No attachments or additional documents such as resumes, cover letters, publications or employment applications will be considered (i.e. Writing ‘see resume’ or ’N/A’ is not a sufficient response for questions 4 through 8).

The Supplemental Questionnaire Exam will be presented to an expert review panel for an assessment and will be used as part of the examination process to determine candidates' score and rank on the eligible list. This position requires knowledge of the roles and functions of local, state and federal regulatory agencies in the energy sector.   Please describe projects you have worked on that required interaction with regulatory agencies, and the specific roles you held.  Please describe the functions of the regulatory agencies.

This position requires knowledge of electric utilities rate-setting principles.  Please describe your experience with reviewing, evaluating, and/or analyzing electric rates. Include in your response your understanding of how electricity rates are set and determined for electric utilities.

This position will require you to to supervise staff who analyze policy issues and actively participate in regulatory proceedings at various state regulatory agencies.  Please describe your experience participating in regulatory proceedings and/or providing oversight to staff who do so.  Please describe the role you performed, the approach you took, and the outcome of your efforts.

Please describe your experience providing oversight to analytical work and the use of modeling tools for analysis.  Please explain the functions and analysis performed by subordinate staff, as well as the results of the work.  Please describe the outcome and how these work products were used by others.

This position will require you to identify priorities, assign work, and ensure accuracy and quality by subordinate staff. Please explain your experience managing staff who perform analytical functions.
