DIRECTOR OF GENERAL SERVICES

The County of Santa Cruz is recruiting for a Director to lead the General Services Department (GSD). The GSD Director is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the operations of the General Services Department, including building maintenance and repair, plant acquisition construction projects, purchasing, warehouse operations, automotive fleet maintenance and repair, and other general service programs and activities. This position also provides administrative oversight for Offices of Emergency Services and County fire protection. The Director manages a budget of approximately $10 million and oversees a full time staff of approximately 60. The incumbent also staffs the Energy Commission and works with County departments on energy efficient and energy conservation projects and practices. Please note: The Director of General Services is currently a civil service position; however, this position is pending review for transition to non-civil service status.
