Job Overview

Aerowerks Corporation of America is excited to welcome a dedicated Welder/Fitter/Polisher to our growing team! This hands-on role is perfect for someone who enjoys seeing their craftsmanship come to life starting from fabrication to the final polished finish. You will work on high-quality stainless-steel components used in advanced material handling systems for the food industry.

In addition to your work on-site in our Gaffney location, you will have the opportunity to travel to customer locations across the United States to support installation projects. This travel aspect is an exciting part of the job and offers a chance to see new places, build strong customer relationships, and take pride in installing equipment you helped create! Travel is project-based and may range from a single-day trip to assignments lasting up to two weeks. We ask that all applicants be comfortable with and able to accommodate this part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication and Assembly (Welding/Fitting):

· Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings

· Prepare and fit stainless-steel components using jigs and tack welding

· Perform TIG welding in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead)

· Conduct quality inspections to ensure welds meet specifications

· Operate material handling and lifting equipment safely

· Must be prepared to work in other areas and departments in the facility if asked to do so

Polishing and Finishing:

· Grind, polish, and finish stainless-steel surfaces and weld joints

· Use hand grinders and polishers for surface preparation

· Remove imperfections and apply buffing compounds for a high-quality finishing

· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the polishing area

Travel for Installation:

· Travel within the U.S. for final equipment installation on customer job sites is required on occasion

Skills and Qualifications:

· 3-5 years of stainless-steel welding and fitting experience

· Proficient in TIG welding and metal polishing techniques

· Ability to interpret technical drawings and fabrication techniques

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship

· Experience operating lifting and handling equipment

· Willingness to travel as needed

· Strong communication and teamwork skills

Location: Gaffney, SC

Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Position: Full-time

Wage: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour

Experience Required: 3-5 years of welding and metal finishing experience 

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; welding or fabrication training/certification preferred
