What you'll do:
The Production Technician – Repair & Rework supports automotive manufacturing by performing rework, repair, finishing, and pilot hall build activities to ensure vehicles meet company quality and safety standards. This role involves assignments across the body shop, paint shop, assembly/finish, and pilot hall. Work requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork in a fast-paced production environment. Correct/repair quality issues that occur during the assembly process.
  • Perform rework, repair, and finish tasks on vehicles and components to restore them to manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct assembly, disassembly, surface preparation, sanding, blending, priming, masking, painting, buffing, and polishing as required.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, spray equipment, and measurement gauges to complete tasks.
  • Inspect and verify work using measurement data and visual standards; correct identified quality issues.
  • May support pre-launch and special build events, including assisting engineers and supervisors with new model launches and process improvements.
  • Identify and report equipment, material, or quality issues to supervisors; recommend corrective actions when appropriate.
  • Assist in training and supporting team members, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Follow all company and industry safety protocols, including maintaining a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including providing general assembly support when needed.
What you’ll bring
  • Minimum 1 year of manufacturing work experience, or an associate’s degree in automotive technology or a related technical field (e.g., Mechatronics, Manufacturing Technology, or Electromechanical Technology).
  • Automotive High Voltage experience or Blitz 3/Level 3 Certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in automotive assembly, repair, rework, or painting preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, technical drawings, and quality standards.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, vehicle lifts, spray equipment, or measurement instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and perform precise rework.
  • Commitment to teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible assignments across multiple production areas (repair, paint, finish, pilot hall).
  • Experience in root cause analysis and problem solving.
  • Filling system experience.
  • Clear and respectful communicator with peers, leads, and supervisors, promoting effective two-way communication on the production floor.
  • Strong commitment to safety protocols, actively contributing to a safe work environment and adhering to all company and industry safety regulations. Maintain a Safe work environment using 5S.
  • Knowledge of various process systems, quality systems, throughput, standardization, and product/process launch.
  • Ability to work any shift and support overtime based on the business requirements. Willingness to work any shift, including nights and weekends, and overtime when required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees and management within all areas of the Plant.
  • Demonstrated ability to support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance work processes and reduce material waste. Lead the elimination of waste in all aspects of the business. Understanding of continuous improvement systems, such as VPS (Value-added Production System), and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative work environment. Be able to collaborate with other departments. Must be willing to train others and share technical knowledge with the team.
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism and integrity, consistently following company policies and taking accountability for work quality and conduct.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a normal schedule of 40 hours per week, depending on the needs of the business. As a non-exempt employee, you are eligible for overtime compensation consistent with applicable law and company policies. This position is eligible to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final pay rate offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
  • Competitive hourly wages (dependent on assessed skills and experience): starting hourly rate $25.00 per hour
  • Earn an additional $0.75/hr. after 6 months.
  • Top rate of $30.36/hr. achieved through successful performance and tenure.
