W International is a full-service manufacturer of large complex welded metal fabrications for the Aerospace, Specialty Commercial, Defense, Energy, and Marine industries. Within the Defense sector, in addition to Combat Vehicles, our focus is on supporting US Navy platforms; especially submarines, aircraft carriers, and frigates. We have recently been certified to perform work to the highly critical NAVSEA weld specifications.

 

The company’s highly trained welders and technical staff are able to support the requirements associated with working with a diverse range of materials; including ballistic armor, aluminum, titanium, invar, and all mild and high strength steels.

 

 

 

Responsibilities/Job Duties/ Tasks: 

  • Position, align, and fit, parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
  • Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.
  • Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components.
  • Lay out and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Remove high spots and cut bevels, using hand files, portable grinders, and cutting torches.

Experience/Education: 

  • Must have completed a prior welding curriculum or 1+ years on the job weld experience.
  • Minimum 1+ years’ experience as a Structural Fitter.
  • Must be a US Citizen. 
  • Must have High School Diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of materials, welding, and machining
  • Demonstrate strong decision making, mathematical, and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Must have strong ethical values, professional attitude, and confidentiality.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • 4+ years of blueprint reading
