Extrusion Technician- Blythewood, SC

Charter NEX Films, Inc. in Blythewood, SC is now hiring Extrusion Technicians due to expansion and growth! Be a part of our dynamic Team! Employee Responsibilities:

An employee in this entry level position is responsible for the efficient operation of extrusion equipment to produce high quality specialty film. This position is an apprentice role spent in a training capacity on Charter NEX’s training program while working closely with experienced operators in line operation. Additional responsibilities includes but is not limited to:

  • Assures awareness and understanding of Charter NEX Films safety policies and procedures and operates in a safe manner with no safety incidents
  • Dependable and reliable; consistently shows up for work on time and work attendance meets schedule expectations; is prompt for meetings; has an effective, sound work ethic that is demonstrated with consistent performance
  • setup/process control to ensure accurate procedures
  • completing process control documentation
  • working efficiently on production scheduling computers
  • labeling/separating scrap product.

Requirements: 

  • If you have a High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years  of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Mechanical experience is preferred
  • Expand knowledge in mathematical areas, such as, addition, subtractions, multiplications, division, and fractions
  • Able to read and use a tape measure
  • Forklift experience
  • 3 plus years Extrusion Operator experience in a manufacturing or Blown Film environment a plus.
  • Can lift 55 lbs., and focus on safety and quality production
  • Able to work a 12-hour shift (6-6 am/pm ) you may be just what we are looking for.
  • Day Shift: 6 am to 6 pm
  • Night Shift: 6 pm to 6 am
  • Training Period: 3 weeks working Monday – Thursday 7:00 – 5:00 prior to being assigned a Shift.

Multi-Craft Industrial Maintenance Technician– Blythewood, SC

Charter NEX is hiring full time Maintenance Technician in Blythewood SC.  The Maintenance Technician position is primarily responsible for performing machine repair, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on equipment as well as the buildings and grounds.  Additionally will work under the direction of the Engineering and/or Maintenance Managers to complete special projects such as the installation of new equipment.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshooting mechanical processes and controls as assigned.
  • Assembling and installing new production equipment.
  • Making mechanical repairs.
  • Completing preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Performing roll changes as dictated by the production schedule.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints/schematics as they relate to electrical and mechanical requirements.
  • Performing facility maintenance tasks.
  • Operating electrical and mechanical test equipment.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment and good housekeeping conditions.
  • Ensuring that all paperwork is completed properly and accurately.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 3 years maintenance experience required
  • Must be able to obtain certification to operate a fork truck, scissors lift, or boom lift.
  • Two years of technical school training in Industrial Maintenance, Machine Repair, Automated Systems, or other similar skilled trades is desired along with 2 or more years of verifiable work experience in related fields.
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace environment where quality and attention to detail are required.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs on a regular basis, walk/stand for prolonged period of time, and work at heights and in hot or cold conditions.
  • Experience with PLC’s, drives and industrial controls is desired.

Material Handler – Blythewood, SC

Our plant in Blythewood, SC  is now hiring Material Handlers. We are experiencing substantial growth and are looking for energetic, positive, motivated people to join our skilled Team! We provide a stable, safe, drug-free work environment, where safety is our top priority. Seeking candidates who have a good attitude, are dependable, have a passion for learning, excel at multi-tasking, and enjoy working in a fast paced environment! No experience in the blown film industry? We’re okay with that! At Charter NEX Films, we provide a robust training program, with a mixture of hands on training and computer modules through our own Charter NEX University. During your first two weeks, you will be in a training capacity with our skilled trainer. Training doesn’t end there! Once assigned to a shift you will work closely with experienced Material Handlers working safely to package the film.

Other responsibilities include:

An employee in this entry level job position is responsible for transferring of finished rolls of film from an extrusion line and packaging/labeling the rolls per customer specifications.

Additional responsibilities includes but is not limited to:

  • Assures awareness and understanding of Charter NEX Films safety policies and procedures and operates in a safe manner with no safety incidents
  • Dependable and reliable; consistently shows up for work on time and work attendance meets schedule expectations; is prompt for meetings; has an effective, sound work ethic that is demonstrated with consistent performance
  • Independently transport finished goods from production lines to the packaging area
  • With guidance from more experienced Material Handlers can package rolls of film to customer specifications as described by work orders, sales orders or by packaging instruction
  • Under supervision accurately enters data into the production computer, and labels finished rolls and pallets accurately
  • Operates stretch wrapper machines to cover and secure rolls of finished film products

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience
  • 1-2 years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • 1-2 years of forklift experience preferred
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dependability.
  • Can lift 55 lbs., and focus on safety and quality production
  • Able to work a 12-hour shift (6-6 am/pm ) you may be just what we are looking for.
