The Department of Facilities Management is recruiting for a Property Manager. This position will be responsible for leadership, management and development of the Real Estate Division consisting of project managers and technical/administrative staff. This division is responsible for identifying/evaluating properties for acquisition, carrying out acquisition and leasing activities and selling properties in accordance with County, state and other governing codes. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of personnel and project management and experience in public real estate, governmental approval processes, principles/practices of real estate, contracts, project management and customer service. To plan, organize, direct and manage the activities of the Property Management Division within the Facilities Management Department including planning, development, acquisition, leasing and management of real property; to coordinate property management activities with other divisions and departments; and to provide highly complex staff assistance to the Director of Facilities Management.
The Manager level recognizes positions that provide full line and functional management responsibility for a division or program area within a department.

Experience and Training
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible experience in real property management, including two years of supervisory responsibility.
Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public or business administration, finance, real estate or a related field.
License or Certificate:

Based upon responses to the supplemental questionnaire, the applicant’s education, training and experience will be evaluated using a pre-determined formula. Scores from this evaluation will determine applicant ranking and placement on the eligible list.
The eligible list(s) resulting from this recruitment may be certified as a substitute list for a substantially similar classification. For this purpose, a substantially similar classification is one at a lower level in the same classification (example: entry level vs. journey) and/or a similar classification (similar work performed, similar training and experience qualifications required).
