The Auditor-Controller’s Office is seeking to fill a Managing Accountant-Auditor vacancy in the General Accounting Division. This position is responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable and Warrants Divisions, including Special Districts accounting and reporting. In addition, this position is responsible for the Countywide Cost Allocation Plan, Month and Year-End accounting and closing processes, Countywide/Special Districts Budget load review and approval, Transportation accounting, and various other general accounting tasks.
To plan, organize, direct and manage the activities of a division within the Auditor-Controller Department including accounting and financial reporting activities of the Property Tax Management Division or the General Accounting Division; to coordinate Division activities with other divisions and departments; and to provide highly complex staff assistance to the Auditor-Controller.
The Manager level recognizes positions that provide full line and functional management responsibility for a division or program area within a department.
Receives administrative direction from the Auditor-Controller and Assistant Auditor-Controller.
Exercises direct supervision over professional and clerical personnel.

Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible professional accounting experience, including two years of supervisory responsibility.
Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, business administration or a related field.
License or Certificate: May need to possess a valid driver's license as required by the position. Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required.
